Community Dream Project Hires Firm To Lead Capital Campaign
LANSING,
Mich. – The Board of Directors of the Community Dream
Project has hired JLW Consulting to lead its upcoming
capital campaign. Joseph Wald is the President of JLW Consulting.
In
this role, Wald will lead the fund raising efforts over the
next 24 months to secure $4.5 million in community donations
to support the development of a new multi-purpose stadium,
which will serve the needs of Eastern High School, Lansing
Catholic High School and the greater Lansing community.
“Joe
is the perfect fit for our project.
He has the connections, knowledge and skills to take
our organization to the next level.” said Community Dream
President Tom Maloney. “His dedication to the Lansing area
community will serve as an example for others and help make
our dream a reality”
Wald
recently retired from Sparrow Hospital and the Sparrow
Health System. He served for more than 21 years in a variety
of positions including vice president of community services
and most recently, as president of the Sparrow Foundation.
Wald is currently a member of the faculty at the College of
Communication Arts & Sciences at Michigan State
University.
The
plan for the Community Dream Project is to develop a
cost-effective, multi-purpose stadium to serve as the home
fields cooperatively, for both Eastern High School and
Lansing Catholic High School, neighbors on Lansing’s
eastside. After
nearly four years of planning, including conducting an
independent fund-raising feasibility study, the creation of
a Community Board and the introduction of key legislation at
the State level to enable this project to proceed, the
project will soon move to the fund raising phase under
Wald’s leadership.
Ground
breaking for the stadium project is tentatively scheduled
for early to mid 2009, with plans to open the facility for
use in the fall of 2010. This new stadium is scheduled to
serve as home school for football, track, band and more. It will be available for
community events.
